Apturakraft – Inspired by Roots, Built for the Future: At Apturakraft, our story begins in the heart of Bareilly, a city lovingly called “Bans Bareilly” for its deep-rooted legacy in bamboo & wooden furniture craftsmanship and known for the timeless beauty of Zari and Jhumka. But beyond these iconic symbols lies a quieter truth—a community of gifted furniture artisans, brimming with talent, dedication, and tradition. These artisans, often working tirelessly in villages and local workshops, create with heart and soul—but receive little recognition, modest wages, and limited opportunities.

Over time, many have been forced to leave behind their passion for furniture-making, seeking work in metro cities, and slowly, their precious art is fading away.

We couldn’t stand by and watch.

Apturakraft was born from a deep desire to revive the heritage of Bareilly’s furniture craftsmanship while solving a modern-day urban problem. During our time living in Delhi, we experienced firsthand the challenges of compact urban living—tiny apartments, limited space, and sky-high rents. It sparked an idea: What if furniture could be smart, space-saving, and beautiful—all at once?

That’s when our vision became clear: To empower Bareilly’s artisans by training and ups-killing them in modern, smart furniture design and production, and to create multi-functional furniture that brings comfort and innovation for our beautiful homes. Also we are not just focused on building furniture; we’re building dignity, opportunities, and a global stage for Bareilly’s artistry.

Apturakraft was founded by Ajmaien Ansari & Yasmeen with their Brother and Father, a Bareilly-based family with over four decades of legacy in furniture craftsmanship. Rooted in a deep passion for design, we believe in the beauty, promise, and enduring heritage of Bareilly’s artisanal traditions—while embracing future-forward innovations in furniture design.

Our vision is to bring modern, smart, and space-efficient furniture from India to the global stage, blending tradition with contemporary aesthetics.
